Build your CV with the template for your country

Which sections belong in a CV is not a matter of taste but of country: a photo and date of birth are standard in Germany and a mistake in the UK. This form asks for exactly what employers in your country expect and produces a PDF that applicant tracking systems can read.

A form that knows your country

Fields and sections follow the country in your profile. Where a photo is expected, there is a field for it; where it counts as a liability, there is not. The same goes for date of birth, marital status and signature.

Six templates, and which suits which industry

Restrained templates for administration, finance and law, clearer ones for engineering and sales, a calm one with more white space for leadership roles. You can switch the template later without re-entering your content.

Which format: reverse-chronological, functional or single-column

Reverse-chronological, ordered backwards by date, is the standard and the safest choice. Functional, grouped by skills, helps with a change of industry and with gaps - but costs trust, because time periods become harder to check. Single-column is the format decision that applicant tracking systems read most reliably: parsers often read two columns in the wrong order.

CVs for senior and executive roles

At this level, the question is not what your tasks were but what impact you had: budget and staff responsibility, results in numbers, time frame. Three to four lines per position, each with one verifiable result, carry more weight than a complete list of duties.

What ATS-friendly actually means

Readable fonts, clear section headings, no text in images, no tables for layout, one consistent date format. All six templates follow these rules. Whether your finished CV gets through, the ATS checker will tell you.

Frequently asked questions

Should I put a photo on my CV?

It depends on the country. Standard in Germany, Austria and Switzerland; better left off in the UK, Ireland and the US, where it opens discrimination risk. The form follows the country in your profile.

How many pages should a CV be?

One or two. Two is normal from roughly ten years of experience; three only in academia with a publication list.

Can I change the CV later?

Yes. Entries can be edited, duplicated and re-exported as PDF without starting over.
